Armstrong, the state president of the Bahujan Samaj Party and a lawyer, was standing near his house in Perampur, Chennai last night. Then, the mysterious men dressed as a food delivery company cut off Armstrong and escaped. An ambulance took him to the Apollo Hospital on Grimes Road, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The incident of brutally hacking to death a national party state leader has left Tamil Nadu in a state of shock. In this regard, 8 people, including Ponnai Balu, brother of rowdy Arkadu Suresh, surrendered to the police department in the next few hours. It is said that this incident took place as a revenge for Argad Suresh’s murder.
A post-mortem examination of Armstrong’s body was conducted today at Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital, Chennai. While a petition has been submitted to the Chennai Corporation to bury his body at the Bahujan Samaj Party office, the government has not yet given permission. Because of this, Bahujan Samaj Party members joined the protest.
In this situation, Armstrong’s wife Borokodi filed a petition in the Madras High Court seeking permission to bury his body in the party office premises in Chennai. His lawyers appealed to the presiding judge R. Mahadevani that this should be investigated as an urgent case. Accepting this, the Chief Justice granted permission to investigate the case as an urgent case.
The case was announced to be heard before Justice Bhavani Subparayan. Tomorrow morning at 8.30 this case will be heard through video. The conclusion of the investigation will determine whether Armstrong’s body will be allowed to be buried at the party office. His supporters are tearfully awaiting the trial.
In this context, the body of the murdered Armstrong is being taken from the Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital to his residence in Ayanavaram for the family to pay their respects. Bahujan Samaj Party National President Mayawati will pay homage tomorrow.
