Solu (34), a transgender from Sattur, Virudhunagar district, has completed traditional medical studies and is working as a temporary traditional doctor at the Government School Education Department Regional Resource Center in Chellambatti, Madurai district under the Sarva Siksha Abhiyan scheme under the School Education Department.
A dedicated clinic for transsexuals
For about 6 years, he has been treating differently abled students studying in government and private schools, and with the intention of helping the people of his community, he started the first physiotherapy and aesthetics clinic for transgenders in India in the name of his mother in Annanagar, Madurai.
First time in India:
He has opened a clinic with modern equipments especially for transsexuals and transgenders who are spending a lot of money on skin and hair related treatments after surgery.

In this regard, Solu, a transgender doctor, said, “I have started with the intention of doing physiotherapy not only for transgenders but also for special children and for all. Physiotherapy has been an important treatment for the existing special children. I am doing this great work with love and desire. The government should appoint the temporary work as a permanent work.” .
