Agriculture Minister MRK Panneerselvam and a team of Tamil Nadu Agriculture Department have traveled to Australia and Singapore on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Government regarding agricultural technology studies and the use of technologies related to the welfare of farmers in the Tamil Nadu Agriculture Department. In the notification, the Agriculture Committee led by Tamil Nadu Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister MRK Panneerselvam has been sent to Australia and Singapore for the development work to be carried out on behalf of the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department as per the order of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister. In this discussion, climate change in Tamil Nadu, introduction of new types of crops, use of new technologies in agriculture and farmer welfare, measures for soil conservation, protection of crops from pest attacks, intensification of high-tech farming methods, handling of horticultural crops such as fruit crops and medicinal crops, post-harvest management of all types of crops. Methods of guidance, innovating food crops, improving training for technical development, improving the skills of students studying agricultural subjects etc. were discussed.
