Chennai: Swati Maliwal told ANI that it was true that I was attacked at Arvind Kejriwal’s house and no one came to help me.
Former Delhi State Commission for Women chairperson and Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal was assaulted by Kejriwal’s aide Bibhav Kumar at Arvind Kejriwal’s residence in Delhi on May 13. A complaint has been lodged with the Delhi Police and an investigation is underway.
The Delhi Police, who interrogated Swati Maliwal in this complaint, arrested Bibhav Kumar on May 19. He is currently in judicial custody. Swati Maliwal, who has been posting about the incident on social media, gave a detailed interview to ANI today.
In that interview, he said about the incident that happened on 13th May, I had gone to the Chief Minister’s residence on 13th May to meet Arvind Kejriwal. The staff asked me to wait in the drawing room. They said that Chief Minister Kejriwal was at home and he was coming to meet me. Meanwhile, his assistant Bhibhav Kumar arrives. He scolded me and slapped me 7-8 times. I called the police. He immediately went outside and called security. A 50-second video later went viral on the internet, but they distorted the actual evidence.
It is true that I was assaulted in the drawing room at Arvind Kejriwal’s residence. The moment I complained, the entire party (Aam Aadmi) turned against me. Again and again they insulted my character. The edited videos were leaked to the media. The CCTV footage is said to have disappeared.
I was in pain and shock when I called 112. I thought then that he (Biphav Kumar) might attack me again. A police investigation is currently underway. Swati Maliwal said in an interview with ANI about the May 13 incident that I am cooperating.
