Coimbatore district has the Marudamalai temple which is considered to be the seventh house of Lord Murugan.
15 kilometers
A large number of people visit this temple daily. This Marudamalai temple is situated at a distance of 15 kilometers from Coimbatore. As it is situated on Marudamalai, it has been sung as Maruthan by Arunagirinath in Tirupupugazh.
Ganesha appeared
Murugan Subramania Swamy as the main deity here is also known as Dandayuthapani and Marudachal Murthy by the people. At the foot of Marudamalai, there is a Ganesha temple called Tanthontri Ganesha.
Kongu is the king of hunting
It is said that earlier this temple was maintained by Kongu Vettuwa kings. Currently, the temple is under the control of the Hindu Religious Welfare Department. This temple is located in Somyampalayam panchayat under Periyanayakanpalayam panchayat union of Coimbatore district.

In view of this, from 28th to 30th, devotees are not allowed to go to the mountain temple in two and four wheeler vehicles and walk on the mountain path. Therefore, it has been announced by the temple administration that all the devotees can have darshan of Lord Murugan by going through the steps of the temple.
