Maruti has launched a new mid-range variant of the Franks SUV that it sells in India. Between the Delta+ and the top-end Zeta variants, Maruti Suzuki has introduced a new variant called the Delta+ (O). The company has introduced this new variant with emphasis on safety features.
Maruti Franks rivals in India like Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet and the recently launched XUV 3XO all come with 6 airbags for safety. Hence, Maruti has launched the new Delta+ (O) variant, adding six airbags to the base variant of the Franks, the Delta+, along with two airbags along with side and curtain airbags.
Apart from the addition of four airbags, this new Delta+ (O) variant is unchanged from the Delta+ variant. Also, the new Delta+ (O) variant is priced at Rs 15,000 more than the Delta+ variant due to these additional airbags.
The new Delta+ (O) variant offers only a 1.2-litre petrol engine, without the 1.0 turbo petrol engine option. This engine comes with a choice of 5-speed manual and 5-speed automatic gearboxes. The Delta+ (O) variant with manual gearbox is priced at Rs 8.93 lakh ex-showroom and the Delta+ (O) variant with automatic gearbox is priced at Rs 9.43 lakh ex-showroom.
This new mid-range variant does not see any other changes in the Franks lineup apart from additional airbags. As usual, the Franks SUV model is going to be sold at a price ranging from Rs.7.51 lakh to Rs.12.88 lakh. Those who want additional airbags can spend extra and get the mid-range Franks variant.
