Palani Kriwalabadi:

Dindigul District Palani Murugan Temple is a world famous temple. Lakhs of devotees visit the Palani Murugan temple under the control of the Hindu Religious Endowment Department throughout the year, but there are many encroachments on the road.

Request for removal of encroachments:

Devotees are disturbed due to encroachments. Manu Radhakrishnan had filed a petition seeking contempt of court action against the officials of the charity department as a case was filed in the court regarding the removal of the encroachments and the court ordered to remove the encroachments.

The petition came up for hearing before Justices Krishnakumar and Vijayakumar.
On the part of the government, 139 encroachers are encroaching around the foothills of the Palani temple and occupying the places belonging to the temple.

Actions will be taken to vacate the encroached lands as soon as the encroachers are given alternative accommodation as per the order of the High Court. Actions were taken to take over from the occupying forces by expressing their willingness to move to an alternative location.

But most of the occupiers refuse citing various reasons, including the need to issue a deed for an alternate location in their name.

Main orders of iCourt Branch:

Only then will they agree to move to an alternate location and shake their hands, they refuse. Therefore, the government advocate argued that there is delay in removing encroachments on temple land.

Following this, the judges have given time to the 139 encroachers who are encroaching on the places belonging to the temple around the Palani temple, to sign their consent to move to another place.

Identify occupiers who refuse to relocate and give them 24 hours. After that, the Tahsildar should immediately take steps to remove the encroachers.

They ordered the Tahsildar to file a reply regarding the action taken and adjourned the hearing.
