The tower’s design aims to continue Saudi history and tradition. They said they hoped that it would become a new symbol of the country’s future development.

The tower is designed in a futuristic style. Jetta Tower is set to reach new heights in visual beauty as well as the use of world-class technology. The construction of the Jeddah Tower started in 2013, but the work was halted due to various reasons. Construction was temporarily halted in 2018 after one-third of the tower was completed.

Osama bin Laden’s brother, Bakr bin Laden, owner of the building’s contractor, the Bin Laden Group, was arrested and fired from construction. Later, due to the Covid pandemic crisis, the construction work got delayed again. Construction of the tower resumed in September 2023.
