On the 12th of last month, Chennai Police Commissioner Sandeep Roy Rathore ordered to take action against Chawku Shankar under the Gangster Act in connection with this case.

As action has been taken under the Gangster Act, an investigation was conducted at the Counseling Corporation in Chennai. In this situation, the advisory council has confirmed the thug law against Chavku Shankar.

After examining the cases and evidence against Chavku Shankar, it was decided that he should be booked under the Gangster Act as he was causing disturbance to public peace. The government has the power to do so. It is noteworthy that the Madras Police had informed the High Court that this was not a retaliatory action by the police department.
