Warrant for Thirumavalavan .. Mayiladuthurai District Court action!

In Mayiladuthurai, in 2003, the party got permission from the police to hold a rally and public meeting on behalf of the Liberation Tigers of India against the Prohibition of Religious Conversion Act. Subsequently, a rally was held from the Mayiladuthurai railway area under the leadership of Thirumavalavan, the leader of the Liberation Tigers Party.

No. 1 had permission to march on Kamaraj Road but No. 2 tried to march through Gandhiji Road. As the police stopped it, a clash broke out between the police and the Liberation Tigers. Public property was also damaged.

Based on the complaint filed by the then Mayiladuthurai Police Inspector Mohanavel regarding this incident, a case was registered under various sections including damage to public property and investigation was underway. And the related case was going on in the Mayiladuthurai Sessions Court.

However, this case came up for hearing again today. At that time, Mayiladuthurai District Sessions Court Judge R Vijayakumari ordered to issue a warrant against LTTE leader Thirumavalavan who did not appear for the hearing of this case.

A warrant has been issued against Thirumavalavan due to the strike of central government lawyers due to the fact that the lawyers for the special side did not file a petition. Further, the hearing of this case has been adjourned to August 27.

The Tamil Nadu Assembly Election 2021 contested 6 seats in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections of the Vimithya Siruthaigal Party, which is part of the DMK alliance. It won in 4 places. Similarly, in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, the Liberation Tigers Party contested in Chidambaram and Villupuram Lok Sabha constituencies. The LTTE Party contested on Panai symbol and won both the constituencies.

Vishika leader Thirumavalavan, who contested from Chidambaram constituency, became a Member of Parliament. In this case, the fact that a warrant has been issued against him has created a political stir in Tamil Nadu.
