3 Days Transport Change in Chennai:
As the upcoming Independence Day festival is going to be celebrated on 15th August at Chennai George Fort, traffic has been changed for three days tomorrow, July 5th, 9th and 13th for the rehearsal of the Independence Day Parade.

A press release issued by the Chennai Metropolitan Traffic Police said,
For the Independence Day Parade Rehearsal, the existing traffic on the roads will be modified as follows.
From Labor Statue to War Memorial (from Kamarajar Road War Memorial) to RBI Tunnel North section, Rajaji Road and Kodimara Road are prohibited for all vehicles other than vehicle permit holders.
All vehicles from Kamarajar Road via Rajaji Road towards Parimuna can reach Parimuna via Laborer Statue, Walaja Road, Anna Road, Muthuswamy Bridge, Muthuswamy Road, Raja Annamalai Manram junction and North Fort side road.
All vehicles from Parimuna going towards Kamaraj Road via Rajaji Road Head Secretariat should reach Kamaraj Road via Paris Corner North Fort Side Road Raja Annamalai Manram Junction Muthuswamy Road Muthuswamy Bridge Anna Road Walaja Road
All the vehicles going to Parimuna from Anna Road via Kodimara Road, Muthuswamy Bridge, Muthuswamy Road, Raja Annamalai Manram Junction, North Fort Side Road, can reach Parimuni.
Also vehicles going to Kamaraj Road via Kodimarachal from Muthuswamy Bridge can reach Kamaraj Road via Anna Road Walaja Road.
Red and purple color vehicle permit holders should proceed through Rajaji Road till 30:00 am and get down near the Chief Secretariat entrance and park the vehicle in the parking spaces allotted in the fort premises. Anna Road Walaja Junction Muthuswamy Bridge Muthuswamy Road North Fort Side Road Parimuna Junction Reserve Bank Tunnel Alight near Head Secretariat Exit and park the vehicles at PWT parking opposite to Head Secretariat
Length and Pink Color Admit Card Holders till 8:30 AM Rajaji Road War Memorial Flagpole Road Muthuswamy Bridge Muthuswamy Road North Fort Side Road Barimuna Junction Reserve Bank Underpass and alight near Secretariat Gate and park the vehicles at PWTV Parking Opposite Secretariat must stop
Those coming in vehicles without permit should alight near the war memorial and park the vehicles inside the island. All motorists are requested to cooperate with this traffic change,” it said.
