Toyota has introduced an intermediate trim to the Rumian, which is already on sale in India. Earlier, Toyota sold Rumian in three variants namely S, G and V. Of these, the entry-level S variant and the top-end V variant had both manual and automatic gearbox options. However, the G variant was sold only with a manual gearbox. Toyota has now given the G variant an automatic gearbox option as well.
The new G automatic gearbox trim has also been introduced with the same amenities offered in the Rumian G manual gearbox option trim. But compared to the base variant S, it gets two-tone alloy wheels, dual-tone seat fabric, keyless entry and co, automatic climate control, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, front fog lights and in-car connectivity features. Got the G variant.
However, the G variant lacks leather seats, side airbags, cruise control and rear camera. The Rumian is powered by Maruti’s 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 103hp of power and 137Nm of torque. Also, gearbox options are offered including a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
Now the newly launched midspec trim, the Rumian G variant with automatic gearbox, is priced at Rs 1.40 lakh more than the G manual gearbox trim and Rs 1.04 lakh more than the base variant S with automatic gearbox trim, at Rs 13 lakh ex-showroom. Now it can be booked by paying Rs.11,000.
