Naam Tamilar Party chief coordinator Seeman has urged the Tamil Nadu government to take strict action against the Devarkulam policemen who are targeting the three-member community.
In a statement issued by him in this regard, police officers including Paul, Arulraj, Karthik and Sabapati working at the Devarkulam Police Station near Sankarankoil, Tirunelveli District, have been accused of deliberately retaliating and arresting the three-member community.
The police indiscriminately attacked 9 villagers including Devarkulam, Vannikonendal, Panavadalishatram, Kurukkapatti, Shanmuganallur who besieged the police station on 09.05.2024 to complain about such continuous abuse of power by the police and the arrest of 50 people who went to seek justice is the peak of autocracy.
In Devarkulam area, the three-member community is living peacefully with the members of the alternative community without any problems, the police unnecessarily targeting a particular community and making arrests and cases is completely intentional.
When the public goes to the Devarkulam police station to file a complaint, the public accuses the police officers of asking about caste rather than asking about the problem. Such one-sided vindictive tendencies by the police will only lead to caste hatred among the harmoniously living Tamil people and disturb the peace of the region.
Therefore, I request the Government of Tamil Nadu to immediately intervene in this matter and conduct a judicial inquiry against the Devarkulam police officers who are targeting the Trikulathor community with the intention of inciting caste violence and disrupting law and order, and take strict action as per law.
On behalf of Nam Tamilar Party, I urge that the cases against 50 people belonging to the three-person community who have been arrested for fighting against police oppression be withdrawn and all of them released immediately. mentioned.
