Commercial complex construction problem? The case against Koundamani was dismissed!

Chennai : Actor Goundamani’s appeal against the order seeking re-handover of land has been dismissed.

In 1996, actor Goundamani bought a plot of land owned by Nalini Bhai at Kodambakkam Arkadu Road in Chennai and was planning to build a commercial complex on that land. He entrusted the construction of the commercial complex to the Abirami Foundation. After this, for the construction of this commercial complex Rs. 3 Crore 58 Lakh money had been signed.

After this, a case was filed in Madras High Court on behalf of Kaundamani that even after giving the money, the company did not start the construction of the commercial complex until 2003. When this case came to trial, it was revealed that the construction work was completed for only 46 lakh rupees.

Subsequently, the judge heard the case filed by Goundamani and ordered that he should pay compensation of Rs.1 lakh per month from August 2008 and similarly, the land received from Goundamani should be handed over to him again.

According to this order given by the High Court, the company was first given a certain amount in 3 installments from the “Kaundamani Kaundamani”. But after that almost 3 crores were not paid. The company filed an appeal in the Supreme Court claiming that the High Court had passed an order without considering the arrears.

In this situation, the construction company has dismissed the appeal petition in this case which came up for hearing today. Through this, after 26 years, Kaundamani got justice.
