Deaths due to money laundering.. Chief Minister should resign.. AIADMK Amali in Assembly for 2nd day!-oneindia news

So far 53 people have died after drinking illegally sold bootleg liquor in Karunapuram area near Kallakurichi. CBCID is investigating this incident which has shaken the country beyond Tamil Nadu. The opposition parties have been complaining that such incidents have happened due to the negligence of the Tamil Nadu government and the police department.

AIADMK has been insisting that Chief Minister M. K. Stalin should accept responsibility for the fake liquor death incident and resign. AIADMK MLAs went on a rampage yesterday, demanding the resignation of the chief minister, raising the issue of counterfeit liquor while the debate on the legislative grant demands was going on.

The Legislative Assembly met today for the 3rd day in this state. Like yesterday, AIADMK MLAs including Edappadi Palaniswami wore black shirts to the assembly. The AIADMK demanded that question time be adjourned in the House and discuss the deaths due to counterfeiting.

When the Speaker said that they can discuss after the question time, they protested and walked out. The AIADMK members walked out of the Assembly shouting that they want justice and the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister should resign.

Later, Edappadi Palaniswami, who spoke to reporters in the Legislative Assembly complex, said, “People should get justice. We have voiced many times that people’s problems should be discussed in the Legislative Assembly. Alcohol poisoning is a life problem for people. People die everyday because of it.

We asked for permission to speak in the Legislative Assembly today on the basis that the people of Kallakurichi should get justice, but they did not give us permission.

There are reports that 183 people have been affected in the Kallakurichi issue. People’s lives are being lost everyday, what is the role of the government in this? The Tamil Nadu government is acting in a lax way,” he said.
