157A 25-year-old female tourist who visited Sri Lanka from Israel had mysteriously disappeared in Trincomalee 3 days ago, and the matter was brought to the notice of the governor today (29) with the intervention of Eastern Province Governor Senthil Thondaman, and the said woman was found within 10 hours.
In accordance with the instructions given by the Governor to involve the Police, Army, Divisional Secretariat, Upluveli Divisional Council and Tourism Bureau in the rescue operation, the concerned parties were involved in the search operation and the missing woman was recovered near Salli Temple today (29) in a state of unconsciousness.
The governor has instructed the Eastern Province Tourism Board to hand over the woman to the Israeli embassy after a medical examination.
