T20 World Cup winning Indian team delayed in returning home

The 9th T20 World Cup series between USA and West Indies came to an end on Sunday. Rohit Sharma-led India beat South Africa by 7 runs to win the trophy for the second time in a thrilling final at Bridgetown, West Indies. Following this win, the fans showered congratulations on the Indian team. Also, they are eagerly waiting for their return home.

In this case, a storm warning has been issued in Barbados and the Caribbean islands where the final match was played against the South African team in the T20 World Cup series. Due to this, the Indian cricket team has been delayed in returning home.

Hurricane Beryl (Category 4) is expected to cross Barbados on Sunday night local time, with the center of the storm about 80 miles off the south coast.

According to a report by the Washington Post, Hurricane Beryl is expected to hit the Windward Islands with sustained winds of 130 mph. A storm warning has been issued for Barbados, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada and Tobago.

The airport has been closed since Sunday evening due to Cyclone Beryl. This has delayed their return to the country. India is currently staying at the Hilton Hotel. There is also information that the Indian team will return to the country in a separate flight once the situation is correct. It is noteworthy that the South African team left early on Sunday.
