Aditya L1 Completes First Halo Orbit: ISRO Awesome Update

India’s first solar project Aditya-L1 spacecraft on Tuesday completed its first halo orbit around the L1 point in the Sun-Earth region, ISRO said.

Following this, ISRO said that the spacecraft has successfully started its 2nd orbit.

India’s solar probe Aditya-L1 launched on September 2, 2023. After a continuous journey of 5 months, the spacecraft docked on January 6, 2024 at its target Langrange point, 15 lakh kilometers from Earth.

It then probed the Sun while there and sent back the data. In this case, ISRO has informed that the Aditya L1 spacecraft has completed its first orbit.

The Aditya-L1 spacecraft took 178 days in its first orbit around the L1 point. ISRO also said that two station-keeping cycles were carried out on February 22 and June 7 in the first halo orbit to maintain this orbit. After this, it said that the 2nd halo has now successfully started traveling in orbit.
