A teenager who took a bath in Cauvery river near Thaniyam has gone missing, his friend who tried to save him got stuck in the middle of the river and was rescued by the rescue team.
Rescuers are searching for a teenager who went missing while bathing in the Cauvery river near Musiri in Trichy district. The incident of his friend drowning in the water with the mysterious boy and escaping to shore has created a lot of excitement.
Prakash (27) hails from Meikalnayakanpatti Nadu Street near Thaniyam. His friend Mathesh (30). Both are working as drivers. 5 people along with three friends took a bath in Cauvery river near Natham Mullainagar at around 6 pm yesterday. Unexpectedly, Mathesh was dragged into the water of Cauvery river. Seeing this, Prakash fought in the river to save his friend Mathesh.
It is said that the place where they bathed was deep and they could not keep up with the speed of the water. Then Mathesh is swept away in the river. Prakash, who struggled to save himself, was unable to do so at one point and the water dragged him too. Being a good swimmer, Prakash escaped by going through the water and climbing onto a small sandbar.
He had been lying on the sandbar for about half an hour in exhaustion and then stood in fear not knowing which direction to go and where the depth of the river was. In this case, the three told the people in the area that two friends were washed away in the river and asked for help. Later, information was given to the Kattuputhur police station and Musiri fire station rescue team.
The revenue department, Kattuputhur police and rescue team reached the spot and with the help of the public, they descended into the river and started searching for the two missing persons. In this, Prakash saw the torch light and shouted for help. After that, rescuers rescued Prakasa and brought him to the shore.
Rescuers also searched for the missing Madhes in the river. The rescuers returned to the shore because of insufficient light and nightfall. The rescue team has said that they are going down to the river again today to search for the missing boy. This incident has caused a lot of excitement in the area.
