Meeting with Presidential candidate Namal Sumanthran MP

Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna’s presidential candidate Namal Rajapaksa today (10) met TNA Member of Parliament MA Sumandran.

Keetanath Kasilingam, a member of the party’s political wing representing the northern province, said that the two discussed the problems facing the North-East and the development to be carried out in these districts if they win the presidential election to be held on September 21.

Kasilingam said Namal Rajapaksa told Sumandran MP that he is ready to work with the Tamil parliamentarians in the north and east to address the grievances of the people of the region, provide livelihood and provide a better future to the youth.

Rajapaksa said that even if he wins the presidential election, he wants to ensure that citizens in the north and east have a bright future and that he wants to develop these districts as international trade hubs.

Kasilingam further informed that Namal Rajabang requested to organize a meeting with all the members of Parliament of Sri Lanka Tamil Government Party to discuss such grievances in detail.

Sumanthran MP said that he will talk about this discussion with Namal Rajapaksa in the Central Committee meeting of the Tamil National Federation to be held tomorrow (11). Kasilingam also said that he appreciates Namal Rajapaksa’s efforts regarding the concern of the people in the North and East.

In this context Sri.L.B.P.B. Party General Secretary Sagara Kariyavasam was also present.
