1According to the Echilambattu Police, a girl took her own life yesterday (01) after making a wrong decision in Poonagar area under Echilambattu Police Division.
It is reported that a 14-year-old student named Adishtaraj Gopina, who was studying in the 10th standard, died in the said incident.
The body of the deceased was taken to the Trincomalee Hospital yesterday (01) for post-mortem, but it has been informed that it will be taken to the Batticaloa Hospital as the forensic officer has gone abroad.
It is also known that the girl’s father took his own life in 2013 while there are many suspicions that the said girl may have been molested.
Echilampattu Police are conducting further investigations.
