A bus collided head-on with a three-wheeler; Two people died

125Two youths were killed and two other youths were seriously injured in a head-on collision between a three-wheeler and a bus in the early hours of today (23) in front of the Talava Agricultural Center on Anuradhapuram Patheniya main road, Talava police said.

The two critically injured youths were admitted to Talawa District Hospital and shifted to Anuradhapuram Teaching Hospital for further treatment.

24-year-old SKPSS Perera and 19-year-old KM Padmasiri of Eppavala Mediyawewa area have died.

The Dalava Police, who are investigating the incident, said that the accident took place when the group of youths were returning home after participating in Bosan Utsava events in Anuradhapuram.

A tricycle traveling from Anuradhapura to Talawa collided head-on with a bus traveling from Ratnapura to Jaffna.

Police said that the three-wheeler driver could not control the speed and collided with the bus coming in the opposite direction.

The two youths who were injured in the accident were admitted to Talawa District Hospital where two youths died.

Talawa police have arrested the bus driver in connection with the incident.
