Madras High Court Judges have said that a murder case should be registered against the officials involved in the Thoothukudi firing incident.
The hearing of the case filed by human rights activist Henry Thibane in the Madras High Court is pending and the order issued by the National Human Rights Commission should be canceled and the case initiated by the Tuticorin shooting incident should be closed.
Also, when this case came up for hearing today in a session of Justices SS Sundar and Senthilkumar, Tuticorin Deputy Superintendent of Police Linga Thirumaran, who was included as a respondent in the case, said that the case which has already been completed cannot be taken up again according to the Human Rights Commission Act, and the State Human Rights Commission and Justice Aruna Jagatheesan Commission. A case that has been investigated cannot be re-investigated.
People have been wronged. No authorities have yet expressed regret for the incident. The judges said that a case of murder should be filed against them, who ordered the firing?
