A new type of corona has entered India.. Is it dangerous? What are the symptoms?

Chennai: It has been reported that a new type of corona virus called FLiRT has been detected in India.

In the year 2020, the epidemic of Corona spread all over the world. After this, facing the Corona virus, people have changed their lifestyles and adapted to it.

Even so, new variants of Corona are spreading around the world from time to time. However, scientists say that there are no major effects. Another variant of the recent corona virus, the Omicron virus, has killed many.

At this time, a new type of corona infection called FLIRT is spreading widely in India. The new epidemic, a subtype of Omicron virus, spread among many people in the United States between January and April.

It, KP.2 and KP.1.1 are variants, named ‘FLiRT’ based on the letters derived from their genes. Currently, this new type of variant is said to have been detected in several cities in India, including Thane, Pune and Nashik. This type of virus is spreading more in countries like USA and UK.

Is FLIRT Type Dangerous?

Researchers do not have complete information about the current FLIRT type of coronavirus in India. But it has only been revealed that these are capable of attacking the body beyond the immune system.

Since only 1 percent of the reported corona infections in India have the FLiRT strain, there is no information on its severity. However, caution is advised.

Symptoms:

The symptoms of this new variant are said to be similar to JN.1 Corona symptoms.

Accordingly, it is said that the symptoms of this corona are “sore throat, runny nose, cough, head and body aches, fever, congestion, fatigue and shortness of breath.

Also, it has been reported that some people may experience symptoms like diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. It is advised to seek immediate medical attention especially if symptoms such as difficulty breathing or persistent chest pain occur.
