A practice match before the T20 World Cup? Indian team in trouble !!

Chennai : Before the upcoming T20 World Cup series, the Indian team will play only one practice match and the fans are saying that it seems that the Indian team has a problem.

As the current IPL season ends on May 26, the Indian team will go to America for the T20 World Cup next week. The T20 World Cup series will begin on June 1 and will run until June 29. Now, the problem for the Indian team is that the ICC is scheduled for warm-up i.e. practice matches in Florida.

However, India last played a T20I against Afghanistan in January. Since then the Indian team has not played any T20I as an international. Due to this, the fans are saying that after the IPL series is over, the Indian team will face problems as they will play the T20 World Cup directly without any training or rest.

Also, participating teams will play at least 2 practice matches prior to any ICC major series. But due to lack of time, the Indian team is said to be playing only one practice match. It seems that the BCCI is also pushing for that one match to be held in New York.

Because the Indian team will play a total of 4 matches in their division. As 3 of those matches will be played in New York, BCCI seems to be recommending that one practice match played by the Indian team be played in New York. Thus, even if the entire Indian team comes fit for the match, there are talks in the cricket circles that the BCCI is recommending this to reduce the travel.

Also, it seems that ICC will announce the dates for these practice matches later. It remains to be seen how the Indian team will handle this T20 World Cup series behind this tight schedule. Also, the Indian team will meet the Irish team in their first match of this T20 series on June 5 in New York.
