More than 200 nurses participated in an awareness rally held on World Nurses Day to encourage the younger generation to choose nursing as the future of the health sector.
World Nurses Day is celebrated on 12th of May. To welcome this day, various awareness programs are being conducted in all the hospitals throughout the week to inform the public.
As part of this, an awareness rally was held today at Coimbatore Racecourse area on behalf of Coimbatore Sri Ramakrishna Hospital under the theme “Our Nurses – Our Future” on the theme of economic power of care.
More than 200 students of Sri Ramakrishna Medical College who participated in this rally carried awareness flags about their services and contributions in the health sector and participated in the procession and highlighted the virtues of the nursing sector.
The nursing students performed an awareness play about the dangers of cutting trees earlier, not to drink artificially cooled water during hot weather, to collect rainwater, to protect soil fertility, to save ground water and protect future generations by keeping trees.
Following this, white balloons were flown to honor the work of nurses and to commemorate Florence Nightingale, the pioneer of modern nursing.
The Nurses Day rally was flagged off by Sri Ramakrishna Hospital Managing Trustee Lashminarayanaswamy and SNR Trustee Principal Swathi Rohit.
