Officials of Registrar Department, Survey Department, Divisional Secretariat, District Secretariat will also attend this service. It is also worth noting that no money will be invested for this.

Saman Padikorala, Secretary, Ministry of Irrigation,

More than 280,000 people living within the Mahavali zone have land permits. Permanent guarantees of land to residents within the Mahavali Zone will be provided under the Urumaya Scheme. Even now, all arrangements for providing land guarantees for 60,000 people have been completed.

Commissioner General of Lands Bandula Samarasinghe,

There has been progress in the Urumaya Land Assurance Scheme. Information about this did not reach the villagers properly. Some people keep their permits at home and miss out on the opportunity to get permanent residency.

Therefore, we request the public to hand over the land permits to their divisional secretary and get the land guarantees without any conditions as soon as possible.

In order to effectively carry out these tasks, the President’s Office, Land Commissioner’s Department, Mahavali Authority, Surveyors’ Department, Registrar’s Department will jointly conduct this mobile service in all the Pradeshiya Sabha and Gram Sevakar units.

For that purpose officials including the Divisional Secretary will also visit the villages. Then you have to hand over the land permits and get a receipt. Also, we request people to get assurances for land under Urumaya scheme as soon as possible.

Director General of Mahavali Authority Mahendra Abhayagunavardhana, Additional Director of Metrology Department KR Sarath and many others participated in this press conference.
