Chennai : Tamil Nadu government has issued an ordinance to set up a state level committee and a state level supervisory committee to implement the Tamil Butalavan project next month.
Department of Social Welfare and Women’s Rights from the financial year 2024-2025 will provide a monthly stipend of Rs.1,000 to students studying in government schools and government-aided schools in Tamil mode and pursuing higher education in Tamil medium from the financial year 2024-2025. Project” is implemented.
The Tamil Nadu government started the work for this yesterday. Accordingly, under this scheme from August onwards, Rs.1000 per month will be paid into the bank account of the students studying in government schools from 6th to 12th standard and enrolling in college.
Approximately 3.28 lakh students are expected to benefit through this. After the incentive is transferred to the student’s bank account, an SMS will be sent to the registered mobile number.
Currently, the eligibility criteria for students to get Rs.1000 per month under this scheme has been published. In particular, Aadhaar number has been announced as mandatory to avail this scheme. Educational institutions have been advised to take steps to ensure that eligible students have Aadhaar number.
Who gets/does not get:
- The scheme is not applicable to other students except those who studied in Tamil medium in government and government aided schools.
- Students pursuing higher education in non-recognized educational institutes and those who have studied in other state schools will not be eligible for incentives under the scheme.
- Although receiving any other subsidy. Eligible to benefit from this scheme.
- Students studying in other state schools are not eligible to benefit from this scheme.
- No matter how many students are eligible from the same family, all can apply to benefit under this scheme.
- After school. Only students pursuing higher education are eligible to benefit from this scheme.
- Only students studying in integrated courses can get incentive under this scheme for the first three years.
- The students who are allowed to write the semester examination and annual examination will be eligible to get this scholarship.
