Just a few days ago Bajaj launched their new 400cc bike, the Pulsar 400Z. Although there are many 400cc bikes competing with this bike, the direct competition is Hero’s Maverick 440 which was launched a few months ago. Both the companies have known the pulse of Indian bike customers and introduced new 400cc bikes at lower prices. Here is a short comparison of the features on these two bikes.
Bajaj Pulsar 400Z vs Hero Maverick 440: Features
Both the bikes get LED lights, fully digitized instrument consoles and dual channel ABS. In addition, Pulsar 400Z has four riding modes like Sport, Road, Rain and Offroad and three levels of traction control. The 400Z uses a USD fork at the front and a preloaded monoshock at the rear as the suspension setup.
The Maverick 440 is Hero’s flagship model and gets a telescopic suspension setup at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. While the Maverick 440 lacks riding modes as mentioned above, the top-end variants offer Bluetooth connectivity, call and SMS alerts.
Bajaj Pulsar 400Z vs Hero Maverick 440: Engine
The Pulsar 400Z gets the same 373cc liquid-cooled engine used in the Daminar 400. This engine is capable of producing 40hp of power and 35Nm of torque. On the other hand, the Hero Maverick is powered by a slightly larger, single-cylinder, 440cc air-cooled engine. Despite being a big engine, it is noteworthy that it produces only 27hp of power with 36Nm of torque.
Bajaj Pulsar 400Z vs Hero Maverick 440: Price
The new Pulsar 400Z has been launched in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.85 lakh. The Hero Maverick was launched at a slightly higher base ex-showroom price of Rs 1.99 lakh.
