Bhujawendi, who was a member of Vikravandi assembly constituency in Villupuram district, passed away last April due to ill health. Subsequently, Vikravandi constituency was declared vacant. The Election Commission recently announced that the by-election will be held on July 10 for Vikravandi constituency.
The filing of nominations for this has started today. Due to this, political party leaders are showing seriousness in candidate announcement and election related work. Anniyur Siva has already been announced as the DMK candidate in Vikravandi constituency.
Nam Tamilar Party, which announced that it will contest alone in the Vikravandi by-election, also announced its candidate today. Accordingly, the doctor contests on behalf of the party. In this case, PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss had said yesterday that the matter of contesting in Vikravandi by-election will be discussed with the alliance parties.
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu BJP leader Annamalai has announced that BAMKA will contest on behalf of the National Democratic Alliance in the Vikravandi by-election. In a statement issued in this regard, he said, “The by-election for Vikravandi assembly constituency in Tamil Nadu is going to be held on July 10.
According to the unanimous decision of all the alliance party leaders who are part of the National Democratic Alliance, it is announced that the Patali People’s Party, which is a member of the National Democratic Alliance, will contest in the Vikrawandi Assembly Constituency by-election.
