Ban on LTTE extended for another 5 years! Central government order.

Chennai : The Union Home Ministry has extended the ban on the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam for another 5 years.

In May 2009, it was announced that the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), which had been working against the Sri Lankan government with arms, had been completely destroyed by the Sri Lankan army.

Even then, the organization’s operations are said to be in other countries. As a result, the Indian government has banned the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam. It has extended its ban until now.

In a notification issued by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, the LTTE was said to have been destroyed in May 2009, but it is said to be active in various countries till now. Therefore, it has been announced that the ban imposed on the organization will be extended for another 5 years.

While this ban was already in place from 2019 to 2024, now the LTTE organization has been banned in India for an additional 5 years till 2029. Due to this, members of that organization have been banned from entering India. It is also prohibited to express support for the functioning of the organization.
