600MW power generation affected due to explosion in boiler tube in second unit of Mettur Thermal Power Station.
Salem District Two units are operational at Mettur Thermal Power Station. In the first section, 4 units of 210 MW each are operational. It generates 810 MW of electricity.
A unit of 600 MW capacity is operational in the second section. It generates 600 MW of electricity.
With this, 1440 MW of electricity can be generated in both the units of Mettur Thermal Power Station. Meanwhile, today 600 MW power generation has been interrupted due to an explosion in the boiler tube in the second unit of Mettur Thermal Power Station.
