A BJP executive has been arrested for submitting fake documents to the Election Commission to open an election workshop. While BJP woman executive Meenakshi has already been arrested, the absconding Villivakkam BJP zone president Maruthupandi has been arrested.
Sophana (55) is a resident of RA Puram 6th Main Road, Chennai. He has Annanagar H. Own a house in block area. Meenakshi (38) lives in his Anna Nagar house on rent basis.
In this case, it is said that Meenakshi conspired with BJP leader Marutubandi from Tirumangalam before the polling in April last year and prepared fake documents to seize Sobana’s house by signing as the owner.
Also, Meenakshi and Marudu Pandi submitted fake documents and applied to the Election Commission of India for permission to set up an election workshop at that address.
The Election Commission investigated the matter and found that all the documents were fake when they checked the documents. Later, the Election Commission officials informed the Thirumangalam police station about this and when the police interrogated the owner of the house, Sophana, Meenakshi and Marutubandi tried to seize the house by preparing fake documents and threatened to kill Sophana.
Later, the original owner of the place, Sophana, filed a formal complaint at the Thirumangalam Police Station and the police registered a case and arrested Meenakshi, who was involved in the fraud, on April 10.
