With the ever-increasing demand for SUVs in India, all companies are looking to launch SUV-style cars in one way or another. The term SUV means a vehicle with a gigantic appearance, and models such as Punch and Xter were released under the name of micro SUV.
After the launch of the Punch model, Hyundai was expected to launch the Casper micro SUV in India as a competitor to the model. Also, Hyundai had introduced the Casper model in their own automobile market, South Korea. But Hyundai has launched an India-centric Xter model as a competitor to the punch.
Now it has been reported that Hyundai is planning to bring the Casper model to India. To confirm it, Hyundai has registered the name Casper as a trademark. Prior to the launch of the Exter in India, the company discontinued the hatchback model Santro. Hyundai launched this model in India for the first time in India.
Currently, it has been reported that Hyundai may release the SUV hatchback crossover Casper model as an alternative to this Santro model. This Casper model is small and cute, not hatchback-like, but with some specs for an SUV. Hyundai is expected to launch this car not only as a replacement for the Santro, but also as a rival to the Maruti Suzuki Ignis.
While the Maruti Ignis is available in India at a starting price of Rs 5.83 lakh, Hyundai is likely to launch the Casper model under the Exter at a starting price of Rs 5 lakh. It is to be noted that the micro SUV models Punch and Xter are being sold at an ex-showroom price of Rs 6.12 lakh and Rs 6.13 lakh respectively.
