Chennai : The Meteorological Department has informed that heavy rain is likely in 9 districts of Tamil Nadu and very heavy rain is likely in Kanyakumari district.
In a few districts of Tamil Nadu, the sun has decreased a bit and moderate rain is falling in the form of heavy rain to cool down the sun. It rained especially in Tuticorin and Tirunelveli districts today. In this situation, (May 14) the Meteorological Department has informed that there is a possibility of heavy rain in 9 districts of Tamil Nadu, and there is a possibility of very heavy rain in Kanyakumari district.
Accordingly, light to moderate rains with gusty winds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour are likely at a few places in Tamil Nadu, Puduwai and Karaikal. Heavy to very heavy rain is likely at a couple of places in Kanyakumari district.
The Chennai Meteorological Department has also informed that there will be heavy rain at one or two places in the Nilgiris, Virudhunagar, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, hilly areas of Coimbatore district, Theni, Dindigul and Tuticorin districts. It has also been announced that there is a possibility of this heavy rain from May 14 to May 18.
As for Chennai, the sky will be partly cloudy for the next 48 hours. Few parts of the city are likely to receive light rain. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 36 to 37 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be around 28 to 29 degrees Celsius.
Temperature condition
For the next 2 days on May 14 and 15, the maximum temperature is likely to be close to normal at most places in interior districts of Tamil Nadu and 2 to 3 degrees Celsius above normal at a few places. Coastal Tamil Nadu districts, Puduvai and Karaikal areas are likely to be generally close to normal.
The maximum temperature may be 38 degrees to 40 degrees Celsius in a couple of places in the plains of northern Tamil Nadu interior districts, 36 degrees to 38 degrees Celsius in the plains of interior districts of Tamil Nadu, 33 degrees to 37 degrees Celsius in the coastal districts of Tamil Nadu, Puduwai and Karaikal, according to the Chennai Meteorological Department.
