Weather Update : Chennai Meteorological Department has informed that moderate rain is likely for 7 days in Tamil Nadu.
While the summer heat is scorching the people in Tamil Nadu, the temperature in many districts is hitting hundred. Moderate rain is also falling at some places. Even yesterday it rained in Yercaud, Dharmapuri and Choolagiri. In this situation, the Meteorological Department has said that there is a possibility of moderate rain in a few places in Tamil Nadu for the next 7 days from today and there is a possibility of heavy rain in a few places in the North-East.
In terms of temperature, it has been informed that the effect of heat will increase today and tomorrow, and in some places the temperature will be 9 degrees Celsius higher than normal, thus Tamil Nadu has been issued an orange alert for today and tomorrow.
As for Chennai, the sky will remain partly cloudy for the next 24 hours. The Chennai Meteorological Department has informed that the maximum temperature will be around 40-41 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be around 29-30 degrees Celsius.
