Ministers inspected the site for setting up a new colorful fish market near Badi flyover.
A world-class fresh colored fish market is to be set up in Villivakkam assembly constituency near Paddy Mempalam in Chennai.
It is planned to set up a colorful fish market with 160 stalls at an estimated cost of Rs 53 crore on an area of 4 acres in Villivakam, Chennai.
Fisheries Minister Anita Radhakrishnan, Hindu Welfare Minister Shekhar Babu along with Chennai Mayor Priya Rajan and government officials examined it. Later, the ministers met the press.

There are 250 color fish manufacturing companies in Tamil Nadu. Out of which 2500 to 3000 workers are benefited.
He said that with the intention of making this industry the primary industry of Tamil Nadu, a study has been carried out with the departmental officials for the sale of world-class colored fish in this area and the construction of a fish shop building.
A world-class color fish store is set up on 4 acres of land at an estimated cost of 53 crore rupees. He said that the construction work will start at the end of this month and the work will be completed within 15 months.
