Chennai: Public Health Director Selva Vinayak has said that the people of Tamil Nadu should not panic as the spread of corona virus is increasing in Singapore.
At the end of 2019, the corona virus that spread from China spread across the world and killed millions of people. In India, lakhs of people died due to corona virus. Following this, since 2022, the spread of corona in India has decreased significantly due to the introduction of vaccines.
In this case, the spread of corona has suddenly increased in Singapore. More than 26000 people have been affected by corona infection in a single week. The health department of the country is carrying out the work of isolating and treating people affected by the corona virus. Also, the Singapore government has advised people to wear face masks and practice social distancing.
In this case, there is a lot of direct air traffic between Singapore and Tamil Nadu. Apart from that, many people from Singapore go to Tamil Nadu and many people from Tamil Nadu go to Singapore every day. Due to this, there is a fear that corona may spread in Tamil Nadu as well.
In this regard, Tamil Nadu Public Health Department Director Selvavinayagam said, “KP 2 type of corona virus infection has been reported in Singapore. It is a type of Omicron virus. This type of virus is not seriously affected. So the people of Tamil Nadu need not be afraid of this. Wear face mask while going to public places. , washing hands frequently is enough,” he said.
