Principal Chief Accountant Jai Shankar in Chennai spoke to reporters regarding the CAG report on the report for the financial year 2021-2022 placed in the Legislative Assembly.

Although the price of Tasmac liquor has been increased, the corresponding tax has not been paid to the government. This resulted in a loss of Rs.30.50 crore to the Tamil Nadu government. Tasmac Liquor Shops have been charged extra for buying bottles of liquor through cash transactions through ATM cards;
It is the duty of the Tamil Nadu government to avoid allegations related to Tasmac. In Tamil Nadu only 12% tenders are held electronically. Everything else is done in the old manual way. “The function of audit is to improve the functioning of the government,” he said.
