Country needs a good opposition party: PM Modi!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the country needs a good opposition, a responsible opposition.

Prime Minister Modi, who visited Parliament to attend the 18th session of the Lok Sabha, spoke at a press conference:

“In parliamentary democracy, this is a glorious day. Yes, for the first time since independence, the swearing-in ceremony will be held in our very own new Parliament building. Earlier, the inauguration ceremonies took place in the old Parliament building. On this auspicious day, I heartily welcome all the newly elected MPs. I wish them all the best. MPs should strive to serve the country and keep the trust of 140 crore people.

The first session of the 18th Lok Sabha begins today. Parliament meeting will fulfill the expectations of the common people. The biggest election in the world was conducted with great pomp and fanfare.

For the second time since independence, the people of the country have given the opportunity to serve a party for the third time. After 60 years, there is a third consecutive term in power. People have given us a third chance for our purpose, operation.

In the last 10 years, we have tried to stick to the usual tradition. Because stable governance is important for the development of the country. A majority is necessary to govern. We believe that consensus is very important to lead the country. So, let’s try to embrace everyone to fulfill the desires and aspirations of 140 crore people.

Tomorrow is June 25. This day marks 50 years since the fall of Indian democracy. 50th year of Emergency declared in India. On this day, the Constitution of India was completely rejected, every part of the constitution was torn to pieces, and the country was turned into a prison. Democracy was completely crushed. This day will never be forgotten by the new generation of India who think to protect the constitution. No one in India would dare to do something like this 50 years ago again.

The people of the country expect good actions from the opposition parties. I hope the opposition parties fulfill the dignity of democracy and the expectations of the common citizens of the country. Don’t like dramas or distractions. People don’t need slogans, they need livelihood. The country needs a good opposition, a responsible opposition. I have full confidence that the successful MPs in this 18th Lok Sabha will try to fulfill these expectations of the common people.

The people of the country have given me an opportunity for the third time. This has tripled our liability. So, in the third term, I assure the people that we will work three times harder,” he said.
