Bode is the next film directed by Simbu Devan who is famous for his films Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi and Irukkottai Murattu Singam. Yogi Babu is playing the lead role in this film. He was also joined by Gauri Kishan, M.S. Bhaskar and Chinni Jayant played the lead roles. This film is produced by Mali and Manvi and Gibran has composed the music for it.
The uniqueness of Simbu Deva is seen in the title card that says BOAT is an extension of Based On A True Story. That is, the story of this film takes place in the year 1949 in Madras. At the time of World War II and freedom struggle, Yogi Babu (Fisherman) is afraid of being bombed by the Japanese Air Force and if he goes into the sea with his grandmother, they plan to escape by boat thinking that no one will bomb them. Then some people along with them boarded the boat to save their lives. Meanwhile, a British police officer also joins him on that boat trip in the middle of the sea. Suddenly a hole falls in the boat. 
And a huge shark is circling them. Thus, Simbu Devan has highlighted how human selfishness is more cruel than a bomb placed on the ground to explode the next problems. This bot film has given a new experience without the love scene, fight scene, cutting punch. Apart from that, the way caste, religion and the problems we face in today’s political environment are handled with political satire in this film makes fans enjoy it. Gauri Kishan, MS Bhaskar and Chinni Jayant who are acting in the film have given their perfect performances. 
Next, Gibran’s music is a major strength of the film. Next, the deep story of each character and their dialogues are another strength of the film. The fact that the film is shot entirely in the ocean makes the film interestingly moving. That is, the whole film takes place around the boat, so the dialogues are the highlight. Even though it is boring at some places, everyone has carried the film with their performances, just like Simbu Devan has added to his success with his screenplay.
