Dubai is implementing a plan to boost its economy and target 2033. The project was approved by the country’s authorities on January 4, 2023. The D33 was announced under the leadership of the country’s president, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Super projects that will change the country of Dubai
The country’s ruler, Sheikh Hamdan, announced new plans to transform Dubai at the X site. In his post, he said, “Upon completion of this strategy, which includes 200 projects and initiatives, infrastructure will be built. Dubai has endorsed the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033 as part of an effort to promote global excellence in the areas of economy, modernization and well-being. Sheikh Hamdan has said that it is essential for travel.
Dubai Lifestyle Strategy 2033
Through this project, development of more than 200 parks in different parts of Dubai, increase of cycling tracks on beaches by 300 percent, increase of length of night swimming beaches with night swimming facilities by 60 percent, creation of new beaches exclusively for women, implementation of comprehensive plans for the development of areas adjacent to Dubai City is a multi-faceted project.
There is Dubai 33. Part of this is developing Dubai’s suburbs. In that regard, Sheikh Hamdan presented plans to develop the three districts of Al Mishar 1, Al Khawaneej 2 and Al Barsha 2 as model neighborhoods.
Improved infrastructures
Through this project, the country’s construction will be equipped with surplus facilities. For a healthy living environment, transportation systems increase connectivity between community centers such as parks, churches, and commercial establishments.
Dubai 33 strategy that does not exclude nature
More than 115 km of walking and cycling paths will be laid across the country and more than 3,000 trees and plants will be planted. Sheikh Hamdan also said that Al Khawaneej 2 and Al Barsha 2 will create more than 20 investment opportunities in the first phase of development.
Development plans include renovating existing streets, creating more shade, bicycle and e-scooter paths, pedestrian walkways, restrooms and family recreation areas. Landscaping, creation of unique architectural entrances for each residential community, improvement of alleys and street intersections to increase safety and widen pedestrian paths are to be implemented.
20 minute city plan
Apart from that, the concept of ’20 minutes city’ will be implemented to reduce the travel time of the public. This will enable residents to access 80 percent of essential services within a maximum 20-minute drive. Dubai’s crown prince is inspecting the construction of parks that will be used by the next generation. He said that these parks are meant to reflect the unique character of each district and cater to the needs of the residents.
30 parks in three years
In that way, more than 30 parks will be created across Dubai in the next three years. Also, 376 dedicated stations to monitor water and air pollution and the first phase of the Waste to Energy project, the world’s largest waste-to-energy project, has already been completed.
8 natural wildlife sanctuaries covering an area of 1,266 square kilometers and marine sanctuaries covering an area of 32 square kilometers will be created as part of the strategy. Dubai is home to 1,524 species, including 342 species of birds, 46 species of mammals, 51 species of reptiles, 315 species of plants, 188 species of fish and 582 species of invertebrates. Special schemes will also be implemented to protect them.
Single-site solar power park
The development of electric charging stations across Dubai and the development of the world’s largest single-site solar power park, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Solar Park, are key initiatives of the Dubai 33 project. Integrated Development Dubai has various development projects including Jebel Ali Beach, Jebel Ali Caravans Camp Beach, Jumeirah, Umm Suqeem and Al Mamzar beaches.
A new beach exclusively for women
The main goals are to increase public service systems by 300 percent, ensure 100 percent accessibility for disabled and senior citizens, increase cycling tracks on beaches by 300 percent, and increase the length of night swimming beaches by 60 percent by 2025.
New beaches will be prepared exclusively for women. These will be implemented in line with the goals of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, which will increase the length of public beaches by 400 percent. Moreover, the government of the country has announced that many more tourist centers will be developed.
A booming tourism industry in Dubai
Areas such as Hatta, Lehbab, Al Marmoum, Al Lizaili, Al Faqqa, Niswa, Al Aweer and Markham will have improved tourism facilities to provide a better tourism experience. It will also enable investment opportunities for families, support for farmers and their local products, and protection of archaeological sites. A 162 percent increase in services such as hospitals, schools, parks and mosques is part of the Dubai 33 plan.
Environmental Management
Greater emphasis will be placed on green spaces, which play an important role in reducing carbon emissions, improving air quality and reducing temperatures. Sheikh Hamdan announced that the project seeks to increase the planting of trees and flowers in streets, public roads, squares and parks, and implement sustainable irrigation schemes in line with Dubai’s sustainability standards.
