In this more than 200 electric trains are being operated daily on Chennai Beach – Tambaram – Chengalpattu route. More than 3 lakh passengers travel using it every day. Also, as additional trains are not run according to the demand of the passengers, there is a situation of facing inconvenience even during office hours.

Chengalpattu – Chennai Beach
During peak hours such as morning and evening, there are fewer express electric trains running on the Chengalpattu – Chennai Beach route.

Also, due to insufficient number of electric express trains running at certain times, commuters face inconvenience. Due to this, passengers have requested to run additional electric express trains.
Tambaram – brick
Regarding this, the Chennai Railway Divisional Officer said: After the construction of the 3rd line between Tambaram – Chengalpattu, the train service will be gradually increased. He also said that action would be taken by talking to the authorities about increasing the speed of electric trains during peak hours on the Coastal-Chengalpattu route.
