Former Special DGP Rajeshdas, who was involved in the case of sexually harassing a female SP, has been arrested. The Kelambakkam police have taken action on the complaint lodged by his estranged wife Beulah Venkatesan.
Rajeshdas served as Special DGP in AIADMK regime. When he was working as a security guard for the then Chief Minister Edappadi Palanichamy, there was a complaint that he had sexually harassed a woman working under him, SP. Villupuram Women’s Court sentenced former DGP Rajesh Das to three years imprisonment in this regard.
Rajeshtas appealed against the sentence. The appeal was also dismissed. However, he had obtained a restraining order against his arrest on the grounds that he had appealed to the Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, Rajeshtas wife and IAS officer Beulah Venkatesan is living separately from Rajeshtas. Beulah Venkatesan’s farmhouse is 2 acres 70 cents in Thayur village next to Kelambakkam.
Rajeshthas wife has lodged a complaint at the Kelambakkam police station that last week Rajeshthas assaulted the security guard and entered the farm house.
Based on that complaint, they registered a case under 5 sections including 505(1) at Kelambakkam police station. Subsequently, the Pallikaran police arrested Rajeshdas and brought him to the deputy commissioner’s car and interrogated him for 5 hours.
Then he staged a dharna without signing the documents asking his lawyer to come. Thus Tambaram Deputy Commissioner of Police Pawan Kumar Reddy, Kelambakkam Assistant Commissioner Venkatesh and others pacified him. However, it is said that Rajesh Das got angry with the police.
They arranged a vegetarian meal at the police station in the afternoon. They have also bought new clothes. He was already sent to the Tiruporur Government Hospital for a medical examination at around three o’clock when there were already clothes in the suitcase he had brought.
