Various activities are being accelerated to improve learning and teaching activities in government schools in Tamil Nadu. Although there are separate classes for physical education and justice education, there is an allegation that they are not properly implemented. Other subject teachers take the curriculum as completion. This has been a stumbling block in developing the virtues of students and bringing out their unique abilities.
2024-25 School Academic Calendar
Everyone knows that Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin emphasized this matter to School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poiyamozhi in one of his programs. In this context, a calendar for the academic year 2024-25 has been prepared along with new non-academic activities. As all the schools were opened on the 10th, government school students are being taught according to the new calendar.
Extracurricular activities
The highlight is the non-academic activities. Many students have welcomed this. For example, if we take class 1 to 3, 5 lesson periods are given emphasis on academic and non-academic activities. They are Orality, Writing, Art and Handicrafts and Games.

Along with these activities Higher Education Guide, Health Forum, Computer Programme/ Mental Health and Life Skills have been added for class 9 and 10. 11th and 12th class are allotted only 4 lesson times per week namely Physical Education 1, Extracurricular Activities 1 and Co-curricular Activities 1. Government school students are happy
Studying only core subjects for a whole week is likely to get boring. So the school education department has decided to inspire the students through non-academic activities. They are happily using it in the current academic year. There is no doubt that such activities are very helpful in bringing out the unique abilities of the students.
