General candidate announcement delayed due to procrastination

According to reliable sources, the announcement of the general candidate has been delayed due to the failure of the Tamil party to announce a general candidate for the Tamil party in the presidential election.

A long discussion between Tamil parties and civil organizations was going on for a few months regarding fielding a general candidate from the Tamil side.

Last month, seven Tamil parties and six civil organizations formed a Tamil public framework and formed sub-committees to carry out the selection of public candidates. In this case, the names of President’s Attorney KV Thavarasa from the Tamil Republic Party and former Member of Parliament of the Eastern Province Tamil Republic Party Arianethiran were taken into consideration for the final decision as the Tamil general candidate.

As both of them belong to the Tamil Nadu Party, Member of Parliament M.A. M.A. is in support of the pro-Party candidate of the Tamil Nadu Party. Sumanthran’s support group is also against the general candidate.

As a result, the consent of the Tamil Nadu Party is not available. In this case, due to the difficulty in choosing one of the two names without the support of the Tamil Rashid Party, there has been a delay in the announcement of the general candidate.
