AC facility has been introduced in suburban electric trains running on Chennai Coast, Tambaram, Chengalpattu routes.
Chennai Suburban Train Service:
Although city buses and metro trains operate in Chennai, suburban electric trains play a very important role in public transport. Even though Chennai electric trains are canceled for a day due to maintenance work, Chennai city comes to a standstill.
Thousands of passengers:
Thousands of commuters from the suburbs of Chennai for work and students coming to schools and colleges are benefiting from these trains every day.
More than 500 electric trains are running daily from Chennai Coastal and Central railway stations.
AC Box Facility:
In this situation AC compartment facility is going to be introduced in the suburban trains running on the Chennai Coast Plant Chengalpattu route. For this, the Railway Board has allotted two air-conditioned electric motor units of 15 coaches of Southern Railway, according to the housing department policy note.
So far AC facility was available only in the early and AC reservation trains running to Chennai, now the electric trains running between Chennai suburbs have AC facility which has caused happiness among the passengers.
