The Department of Meteorology has predicted that the current heavy rain situation in the south-western part of the country is expected to decrease temporarily from today (04).
Today (04) there is a possibility of occasional rain or thundershowers in Upper, Sabaragamuwa, Central, South and North-West provinces of the country.
Other parts of the country are likely to experience rain or thundershowers in the evening or night at many places.
Temporarily gusty winds may also occur in those areas during thunderstorms.
The public is advised to take necessary precautions to minimize the damage caused by lightning strikes.
