Salem : Ranjith’s directorial film Kaundampaliyam released on August 9. Following the film’s release, Ranjith watched the film with his fans at a theater in Karupur, Salem district. After watching the film, Ranjith came out and met the reporters and got into a controversy by answering a question about the manslaughter.
During a press conference a reporter asked what you would like to say against the massacre. Ranjith replied, “I would say that manslaughter is an emotion. I have only told about the murder as a solution in this film Goundampalayam. Only mother and father know the pain of it.
For example, if someone steals our bike, we immediately go and beat him in a fit of anger. When it is like that, our life is our child and when the child’s future is affected, parents get angry and take such a decision.
That decision is also a concern. It’s not violence, it’s not a riot, whatever happens, good or bad, everything happens because of concern,” Ranjith said.
While there has been a demand for a separate law to prevent caste killings, now, actor Ranjith’s speech has caused controversy. What care after killing many people who saw what he said? They are also raising questions.
