Imprisonment of Tamil Nadu fishermen – Edappadi Palaniswami condemns

AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi Palaniswami condemned the arrest of 32 fishermen from Tamil Nadu by the Sri Lankan Navy.

AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi Palaniswami’s post on the Samukha website regarding the arrest of fishermen has strongly condemned the capture of 32 Tamil Nadu fishermen and 4 national boats by the Sri Lankan Navy who were fishing in the Bay of Bengal.

While the fishermen of Tamil Nadu are being held captive by the Sri Lankan Navy in an anarchic manner, the Central BJP Government’s lack of efforts to reach a permanent solution to this issue and the State DMK Government’s lack of pressure is strongly condemned.

I urge the central BJP government to take appropriate measures to release the captive fishermen and their belongings, and not only to talk about the issues of Kachchathivu during the election, but to keep in mind that the fishermen of Tamil Nadu are also Indians, and to negotiate with the Sri Lankan government to reach a permanent solution to all the hardships of the fishermen.

Also, I urge the DMK Chief Minister to put due pressure on the Parliament and the Central Government regarding this issue, he said in it.
